Myanmar is currently in a state of military control, with the recent coup that took place. Shooting occurs on a daily basis. The Chin State towns of Mindat and Matupi are under martial law. Many people have fled to their home villages, so there is a large refugee problem.
|
Christians are persecuted but they still continue to fight the army with guerilla tactics. Teachers are also on strike so there is no school. Covid-19 has created a huge problem since the medical system has collapsed with strikes and arrests of nurses and doctors.
A plea for help from our administrator in Chin State.
"Many refugees in my village live in fear and need our prayers and financial assistance. About 500 people live in our village as refugees. Any amount of financial aid you would graciously offer would be deeply appreciated. " |
The three-month English classes in 2020 and 2021 were so popular that the two Taubu villages are asking for more Summer English classes. Blessing Hands paid three bilingual teachers to teach 91-150 students daily. The children enjoy learning and gaining language skills that will equip them for higher education and better jobs in the future. We have recently provided a solar panel so the school and church can have electricity for the first time. We also provided a generator to power the school's printer, TV, and satellite dish.
Blessing Hands has hired a teacher for New Taubu school. He also serves as an assistant to Pa Mena, our administrator in this part of Chin State called Maraland. Pa has traveled by motorbike to 10 villages and surveyed the village leaders and all people to help identify needs in each community. More information on this on-going project will be updated regularly on our Facebook Page! |
